Today we had a no-childcare day, which was so nice actually, as it seems as if things are work, work, work all the time lately and no play. I decided to take the kids up to Children's Fairyland in Oakland. It was a bit of a trek, but with Happy Hollow closed for renovations and my feeling the need to try something new, it was an easy choice. Before we left however, I had to figure out where it was...I couldn't remember the exact name so called my friend Akemi (experienced and enthusiastic park-goer, she knows EVERYTHING!) and she hooked me right up. Coincidentially, mod*mom also has a post up on her site about Fairyland that just went up this morning. See, I'm cool too!
Our favorites: the dragon slide, the Alice in Wonderland tunnel (note to self to pickup a good Alice book...), the Cinderella shoe slide, the pirate ship (although Ben got stuck way at the top and didn't know how to get down - it was tricky for sure), and the fantastic puppet show. We'll definitely have to make it back to see the fairy music farm which opens this Saturday.
It was truly a magical day - the kids got along very, very well, listened, loved the place and proclaimed their love for one another. I could use more days like today.
