When I started this blog a little over 3 years ago, before the birth of my youngest daughter, it was just supposed to function as a birth announcement. Then she was born very ill, with pulmonary hypertension, and almost died. My blog quickly become a way to get information out to our friends and family about what we were going through, to share photos and to get support. Ava recovered and is healthy today, but the blog continued...in many ways as a baby book for Ava and her twin siblings, big brother Ben and big sister Lily (replacing much scrapbooking that I used to do of my kids) and then grew outwards to include so much more. A community. Fellow moms and lawyers and cancer survivors and twin moms and friends.
Today, it is rare that I am without my iPhone and I am always taking photos of things that are going on around me - to document, to remember, to share. I have a lot more ideas in my head to blog about, than the actual TIME and energy to do the blogging, but I do what I can and...it has become a bit of a compulsion! Apparently, this compulsion is shared by others. Not really a surprise, is it? Between blogging, facebook, twitter...and the rest of it, the world is quickly becoming a different place.
I am so happy to share a new site from Silicon Valley Moms Group called A Byte Out of Life. The first of six episodes, sponsored by Yahoo, has just been launched today, just in time for BlogHer! This is the site for video episodes produced by Silicon Valley Moms Group. The first topic? Compulsive Blogging. Will video blogging become another compulsion? Yes, oh yes, indeed. Good thing I received a Kodak video camera yesterday at the SocialLuxe Lounge party - it will be in good use soon! (Thanks SocialLuxe!)
Embedded video coming soon....for now go here to watch the new A Byte Out of Life shows from Silicon Valley Moms Group, sponsored by Yahoo.
