Happy love day!
I found a way to get Ben and Lily to do whatever I want them to do and go wherever I need them to go. It is called chocolate pudding. At Explorer today, I was Art Mom. Yeah! I thought maybe I would be in leading the kids in, I don't know, making Valentines? Cutting out red hearts? No. We had a bowl, a hand mixer, 8 ounces of milk, pudding mix, and pre-cut paper hearts. The kids helped me mix up the pudding and then we got to work finger painting...and eating...and painting...and eating. What a delicious art project. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yummy. So much so that I got Ben to do the handprint for the plate to be auctioned off at Explorer's upcoming auction - he had missed out on this at the other day's field trip fiasco - by holding the paper covered with pudding and leading his tongue over to the designated handprint area. Score. All the kids had quite a tasting and, well, let me say that I'm not sure the snack table was well visited.
Mommy stayed up late last night preppingThe kids also prepped Valentines for all their classmates. That would be 30 classmates....times 2....is 60 handmade Valentines. I was pretty proud of myself them for their perseverance in getting it all done. And see what they got? Nice spread, eh? Also pictured is the literacy room where all their little Valentine bags were set up as a little mail room. Aw, so cute. I love you guys!
