We spent a lovely day today at Byington Winery in the Santa Cruz mountains. It was a rare day when we had a babysitter mid-day for an 11am winery tour start time. This was a prize I won last year at the Gemini Crickets auction, with our co-bidders Polly and Eric Fox. The Foxes had several friends of theirs and we brought our group too. In attendance were Jeff, and I, Robin and Mark, Mom and Dad, Holly and Zach, and Amr and Laila (who is due to give birth to her 3rd baby - finally a girl! - in just a few weeks). We had a great tour of the vineyards and winery, decided we MUST have a private dinner in the cave sometime (if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it, I am guessing, but one can dream...), and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the company, the conversation, the wine all afternoon. Ah....this is the life!
