Robin visited last weekend at the end of one of her business trips - thank goodness, because I needed my twin sis fix. It was a relaxing weekend. We carved out some time for ourselves, which was MUCH needed. We hot tubbed on Friday night until about 1am (gasp - we were shocked!) and talked about our lives. We talked a lot about The Power of Less, a book we are reading, our goals in life, where we are headed, what we want to do with our work lives, our kids, our travels, everything. We had a lovely spa day, courtesy of a gift certificate from one of my great clients (as a thank you for a big licensing deal I worked on over Christmas and New Years).
Oh, and Robin spent some time being "Aunt Robin." Right away when the kids learned that Aunt Robin was coming they asked if Hannah and Sam were coming. Well, no, not this time. But they got over it quickly - they LOVE Aunt Robin, as well as undivided attention. There was some bookstore time, where Ava read books (teacher style) to her animals and Robin bought one of our favorite books from childhood "Where Did I Come From?" Really, if you have never read this book, you simply MUST pick it up. Not that I am thinking of having The Talk anytime soon, but you have to be ready, right? Now it is sitting on our bookshelf, waiting for...well, when I work up the guts for that whole thing.
And....we went to sushi! Ben had actually gone once before with Jeff. But it was Lily and Ava's first time. Sushi Boat was our locale of choice - the boats make it quite an event. Ava loved the tuna sashemi - ate about 17 million pieces. Wow. Lily mainly liked...rice. And she ate some chicken. She was not into the raw fish. Ben gulped down a bunch of salmon. Next stop - Blowfish Sushi?
